Equipe, alongside key representatives from industry bodies like the AGS and BDA, have crafted the most relevant and practical qualifications for technical professionals operating in the geotechnica sector. These NVQs were developed with input from top experts to meet the exacting demands of geotechnicians and materials testing specialists.
The qualification builds upon existing laboratory testing qualifications but has been fully revised to ensure that it directly applies to the activities and requirements of technicians within the geotechnical and materials testing environments – making them fit for purpose in the modern geotechnical landscape.
Your business depends on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. By enrolling your staff in the updated NVQ program, you’re not just ticking a box – you’re building a workforce that delivers results, meets regulatory standards, and operates with proven competence.
The NVQ now stands alone and is available at Level 2 for skilled workers and Level 3 for senior technicians and supervisors.
Who is it for?
Level 2 NVQ
Geared toward skilled workers looking to advance their technical capabilities.
Level 3 NVQ
Perfect for senior technicians and supervisors ready to lead in their field.
The Geotechnician NVQs have been developed to ensure suitable training is in place and to provide competency assessments in five main areas:
Geotechnical Laboratory Test Technician
Geotechnical Field Test Technician
Cone Penetration Test (CPT) Technician
Construction Materials Test Technician
Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician
The units which make up the qualifications are unique to each pathway and will require technicians to provide evidence that they can both perform the geotechnical activity competently and also that they have sufficient knowledge to support their work.
This isn’t generic training. Each pathway is laser-focused on the exact skills your technicians use day-to-day – from precise data collection and calibration to safety, non-conformances, and effective reporting. Your team will develop practical, measurable competencies that translate into increased operational efficiency.
We can help you ensure your workforce meets industry standards with robust, evidence-based assessments that underpin external certifications, including UKAS accreditation, making your business more competitive.
Don’t let skills gaps hold your business back. Equip your team with the qualifications that not only recognise their expertise but also drive your operational success.
