At Equipe, we understand that the success of your business hinges on the quality and competency of your team. That’s why we offer NVQs in Land Drilling that represent more than just a qualification—they are a strategic investment in your company’s future. With our NVQs, your employees gain the skills and recognition they need to excel, and your business gains the competitive edge it needs to thrive.
Since 2008, Equipe has been a leader in the development and promotion of Land Drilling NVQs. We were integral in creating the Level 3 Advanced Driller NVQ for the British Drilling Association (BDA). Our involvement didn’t stop there—our experts contributed to the recent overhaul of the National Occupational Standards (NOS), ensuring that our NVQs meet the latest industry demands.
Our revised NVQs reflect the most current standards, offering robust and specialized training that accurately represents the roles of Lead Drillers and Support Operatives. By choosing Equipe, you’re choosing a proven partner in professional development.
Our NVQ Offerings:
Level 2 NVQs in Land Drilling for Lead Drillers
Ensure your lead drillers are certified to meet industry standards.
Level 2 NVQS for Drilling Support Operatives (Second Men)
Set your support staff up to excel on site.
Level 3 NVQs for Advanced Drillers (Drilling Supervisors)
Prepare your senior drillers for leadership roles with advanced training.
As part of our Level 2 NVQs, we enrol our candidates onto some of our own specialist, geotechnical-specific training courses, at no extra cost to you. Both the Lead Driller and Support Operative qualifications come with free access to a number of our online training courses on our GEO Academy e-learning website. Courses available include:
Asbestos Awareness for Ground Engineering
The Standard Penetration Test (SPT) for Drillers
Wire Rope Inspections
Wire Rope Terminations
Lead Drillers also have access to our IOSH approved service avoidance course (that includes CAT & Genny training) – IOSH Avoiding Danger from Underground Services.
That is up to £320 worth of extra, specialist training and tuition that only Equipe can provide.
The Level 2 NVQ for Lead Drillers is assessed against specific land drilling activities and using specific drilling machines.
To achieve this NVQ, the candidate must achieve the 7 Mandatory Units, plus 1 Optional Unit. Additional Units are also available, but they are not compulsory.
