Geotechnica 2021: Aquaread Interview

We’re now only 3 weeks away from Geotechnica 2021, held on the 7th & 8th July 2021 at the Warwickshire Event Centre.

To celebrate the return of Geotechnica and face-to-face networking for the geotechnical community, we have conducted interviews with our sponsors to give you a sneak peak of what to expect from them in three weeks time at Geotechnica.

Our first interview is with Ryan Cox, Sales Director at UK-based water monitoring manufacturers, Aquaread.

Tell me a little bit about your company – what do you do?

Aquaread have been manufacturing water quality and level probes since 2008. We are a multi-award-winning business with a global presence in over 50 countries. Our brand has grown in prominence in recent years, and we have been involved in some major projects around the globe and right here in the UK. The main markets we serve are environmental applications, typically involving groundwater, surface water, marine and aquaculture monitoring.

How have you found the last 18-months during COVID-19?

The last 18 months have been a real challenge for everybody around the world. Aquaread have adapted their operations to work in line with the current rules, whilst maintaining a significant growth trajectory which, thankfully, has not slowed. Coming in to 2021 we are on track for a record year in terms of sales and we have continued to develop and release new products as well as planning in new releases later this year. So, in summary, it has been a challenge, but we are grateful to our customers for continuing to work with us.

What attracted you to exhibit at and sponsor Geotechnica 2021?

I personally have been coming to Geotechnica for many years. It is a unique show, but well worth the effort and investment. The first attendance for Aquaread was in 2017 and it has always been a great show for us, well run and managed by Equipe with the right mix of attendees. Meeting new clients and talking to them about their challenges is great, and often I find you always bump into clients you have not seen for a while, which often kickstarts business again. We won a major contract from such a meeting the last time we attended Geotechnica.

What are you most looking forward to at Geotechnica 2021?

Getting out and meeting people, it has been far too long, and this will be our first show since the pandemic began. I am looking forward to listening to the conferences and hearing updates from industry experts, meeting with other exhibitors and having a look at the cool drilling rigs outdoors!

What products and/or services will you be exhibiting at Geotechnica 2021?

We will have our usual range of water quality and level instruments. Plus, a new telemetry offering which we believe will revolutionise the way we collect and think about data from site. Additionally, we will have our AP-6000 probe which is our most popular new product in over 5 years!

Why should attendees visit your stand at Geotechnica 2021?

We are a UK based manufacturer and produce a range of industry leading instruments which are high quality, reliable and cost effective. We have been fortunate to gain a loyal customer base in the UK for those reasons. We would love to show clients our products, talk about their work and see what we can do to help them.

Make sure you come and see Ryan and Aquaread in three weeks time!
