Over the last few months the revision of BS5930 has been discussed and the revised version of this British Standard publication is due for publication in 2015. However, before the Standard is published in full in the early part of next year, the draft document is being made available to the geotechnical public for comment.
Considering this, the following communication has been delivered by the Chair of the revision panel, and a frequent collaborator of Equipe Training – Professor David Norbury:
“Dear Colleagues
The Revision of BS5930 (2015) is available for Public Comment from today until 31 January 2015. We invite and encourage you to provide comment through the on line link (details below) as this standard will control how we carry out investigations for many years to come.
The draft British Standard is available for review and comment online via the BSI British Standards Draft Review system (DRS) as http://drafts.bsigroup.com . Registration is free and takes less than a minute. Please use this system and do not provide ad hoc comments to committee members. When submitting comments on a draft you will be asked to provide both a comment (i.e. justification for a change) and a proposed change, and it is the latter that we are most interested in.
We look forward to receiving your comments
David Norbury
Chair Revision Panel.”
Please share this information with anyone that you feel may wish to make an informed comment or suggestion regarding the revision of BS5930 (2015).
